Sills

The depth of your sill is completely dependent upon the construction of your property and the thickness of your walls, render and/or cladding. We offer 3 depths of sill, 10mm (stub nose sill), 50mm (standard), 75mm for render and cladding. Typically larger than this will be tiled, clad or stone sub sills.

To decide what sill type is ideal for your property follow this guidance and DO consult your builder and architect as well as building control or NHBC/Zurich if you are unsure of your requirements.

We typically set the window frames back c25mm from the external brick face. Ideally you will want a 25mm – 50mm projection past the external wall covering, this may simply be the brick face or it may well be render or cladding. See our example drawings for more detail.
