Window Sill Depths

The depth of your sill is completely dependent upon the construction of your property and the thickness of your walls, render and/or cladding. We offer 4 depths of sill, 0mm (stub nose sill), 50mm (standard), 75mm and 100mm. Larger sills can be made as a special order.

To decide what sill type is ideal for your property follow this guidance and DO consult your builder and architect as well as building control or NHBC/Zurich if you are unsure of your requirements.

We typically set the window frames back c25mm from the external brick face. Ideally you will want a 25mm – 50mm projection past the external wall covering, this may simply be the brick face or it may well be render or cladding. See our example drawings for more detail.
